The crossbow should be in the ranged weapon slot if you access the inventory in the main menu. Pressing "Tab" on PC or "L1 on PS4 or Xbox One" will allow you to access your weapon wheel. Select the crossbow after you go through the options. Jan 6, 2020 is when the new year will begin.
