Is the sequel still worth it?

The game is fun, it's not as polished as 3 and the controls are a bit clunky, but the story is great, the side quests are fun and you can tell the developers were finally going in the right direction with the series. Is this true? I think Witcher 2 is great. You should do it. I'm going to bat for Witcher 1 as well.
